All
wire-on, hidem, and binding is made and rolled in one continuous length.
The amount of wire-on or binding obtained depends on imperfections within the leather. Please indicate the amount you need when you order. Half hides or large sections of the hide are preferred to produce high quality wire-on. Any unused portions will be returned to you. To estimate the amount of material to send, allow 2 1/4" widths for wire-on, and 1/4" more than the desired width for binding, times the length required. Do not cut into strips. Orders requiring more than one seam per 4' section will be charged $.50 per seam, if you must send small pieces. Thicker material is preferred. Our machinery will split it to the required thickness. Leather thinner than .030 inches may not be suitable for wire-on due to thickness variations within a hide. Most automotive leather is approximately .040 inches thick. Minimum order is $40.00 |
